IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL LAW: YOU MAY NEVER FEED ANIMALS FOOD THAT IS BROUGHT IN FROM OUTSIDE THE ZOO. Any visitor that brings in food from outside the zoo to feed to our animals will have that food confiscated and may be escorted out of the zoo. The animal welfare act requires that USDA license holders maintain control of the feed given to their animals. Additionally we must prove that feed is of highest quality, prepared and stored properly.
We encourage guests that witness other guests feeding the animals unauthorized food items to speak up and let our staff know. We are a small, family run operation and only see positive revenue a few months out of the year. We do not benefit from tax revenue and receive $0 of outside funding. The revenue generated from feed sales – feeds the animals at the zoo all winter long
